In April of this year, Pam Hubbard retired as Clerk to the Parish Council, a position she has fulfilled for over thirty-five years. During these thirty-five years she has never missed one Council meeting. Pam has achieved a tremendous amount for the village of Follifoot and still continues to work hard even in her 88th year!!

Apart from her work on the Parish Council, Pam was Booking Secretary for the Village Hall for many years, a position she has only just given up. Pam was also a founder member of the Women’s Institute, and served on the W.I. Committee, in various capacities over many years.

Pam was very much involved in producing books recording Follifoot village life, in words and pictures in 1965, 1985, and 1995. In 1975 she organised a historical book about the village, “Follifoot – our Heritage,” which she managed to get published in 1983.

Along with her husband, she was involved in the Village Cricket Club. For many years Pam has visited the elderly and sick in the village; she was very much involved when Follifoot entered the “Best Kept Village” competition. It was Pam who used to deliver Travel Tokens to the elderly in the village, and there have been many other village activities that Pam has been involved in. Many will have seen her pick up litter on her walk to the Post Office, or on her way to visit others in the village. She genuinely cares about Follifoot.

Pam's tireless efforts for this village have done so much to make Follifoot what it is – a very desirable place to live. Although many will not directly see the results of her efforts (although there are many that do), it is because of her efforts that we take so many things for granted in Follifoot. Pam delivers most Council communications by hand, and she is fastidious in her efforts. Pam was also instrumental with the Parish Council, in producing the Follifoot Village Guide, and the Board, which now stands at the top of the village, that gives pictures and details of Follifoot.

Happy 'Retirement' Pam from all the village.
