Neighbourghood Watch
Neighbourhood Watch

The Follifoot Neighbourhood Watch scheme has been significantly updated and will continue to play a vital role in helping the police and community combat crime in this area .

Fortunately, crime by members of our own parish is not the major problem but we are vulnerable to criminal activity by persons from the North East and West Yorkshire, as the Harrogate southern by-pass gives easy access to the village. Our local police are now undertaking random saturation road checks at specific points of entry to the district, such as Harewood and Pool Bridges, to good effect . This positively discourages known criminals from carrying out their intentions .

Ten volunteer resident Neighbourhood Watch Street Co-ordinators are now actively in place to cover the 9 zones into which the main village area has been divided. A list of zone and street co-ordinators can be found here.

We currently seek more co-ordinators to extend the scheme to the remoter parts of the parish, such as Haggs Road, Follifoot Ridge, Rudding Lane and Plompton.

We are committed to providing a scheme which delivers what the community wants and therefore welcome any suggestions or comments you may have about this initiative. If you wish to comment or assist in any way, please contact:
