Meeting held on 30th April 2003 PRESENT:
Chairman Councillor Mrs.U.Cansfield; Councillors Mrs.A.Chetcuti; Mrs.E.Bolton;
J.B.Butler, B.Fisher, A. Martin. MINUTES:
The Minutes of the previous Meeting held on 26th March 2003 having been
circulated were adopted as a correct record. MATTERS ARISING: As sewage smells on Main Street continue to be complained of, Councillor Fisher will again contact Yorkshire Water. Following a visit to Follifoot Stables by Councillors Fisher, Martin and Mrs. Chetcuti, the Clerk was asked to write a letter and thank the proprietors for affording the facility and making Councillors aware of the problems inherent in running the enterprise. Their co-operation with the Parish Council is much appreciated. CHAIRMAN'S COMMUNICATIONS: Report on a successful "Litter Pick" around the village on 13th April 2003. As the problem of litter is ongoing, the Clerk was asked to write to the Borough Council, to request an extension of their programme of collecting roadside litter, to extend to Plompton Road, and Pannel Road, and also to request a litterbin for the "lay-by" on Plompton road together with its regular emptying. MATTERS CONCERNING PLOMPTON: No Matters raised at the meeting. HIGHWAY MATTERS: No action to date re marking the Memorial Bus Stop - this will be pursued. The Highway Authority has said the footpath near the cricket field will be repaired but the retaining wall will not be repaired due to lack of funding. The large pothole near to the Harewood Arms will again be reported. SAXON CROSS: A further letter has been addressed to the Department of Culture, Media and Sport requesting an early decision on Listing this monument. NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH: Councillor Martin reported that the three signs on order for the approaches to Follifoot Village will be erected shortly. Councillor Mrs.Bolton reported there is little interest in a Neighbourhood Watch scheme for Plompton. ENVIRONMENTAL ENHANCEMENT: Councillor Fisher now has two quotes for re-surfacing the Post Office precinct, but Sam smith's are to be asked to state, in writing, their decision on a similar scheme for the Harewood Arms. FINANCE:
The meeting agreed to donate £500 to Follifoot School new Building
Scheme. CLERK'S
REPORT: PLANNING
